Abstract

The pigment dispersion syndrome is characterized by the dispersion of pigments from the pigment epithelium of the iris and its deposition on the structures of the anterior segment and with the purpose of evaluating the results of the treatment with laser iridotomy in patients with pigment dispersion syndrome in the period 2013-2016 in the ophthalmology clinic of the Villazón Ophthalmological Center, Potosí Department, Bolivia, this research is carried out. A longitudinal descriptive study was carried out and the universe consisted of 36 patients diagnosed. A predominance of cases in advanced ages was observed. The neutralization of the inversion of the pupillary block with a peripheral iridotomy flattens the iris, with decreased iridozonular contact with minimal complications and without severity.
