Abstract

This research is about a 4-year-old patient with Dermatomyositis; a weird disease that occurs at any age, but maily between 40 and 60 years or in children between 5 and 15 years. The aim of this work is to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis of this entity and the need to establish an immediate treatment. Diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the entity are also reviewed. In this case the beginning of the disease occurred in acute form. The initial symptoms were proximal muscle weakness, skin rash and periorbital Heliotrope-shaped swelling. The disease has evolved with a crash course. It was concluded that early diagnosis of the disease is related to the prognosis.
