Abstract

Introduction: prosthetic rehabilitation with dental implants is a useful therapeutic option for achieving highly esthetic and functional restorative treatments. The scan prosthesis is a diagnostic and important means in the planning of prosthetic implant. This allows us to place implants in the most convenient location and facilitates the development of the prosthesis according to the bone availability.
Case report: it is presented a case of an upper maxillary edentulous patient, rehabilitated by a total prosthesis, who frequently complained of sub prosthesis stomatitis. It was made a radiological splint in order to specify the number and location of implant placement. 12 implants Trademark Nano Standard 3.2 mm wide by 13 mm long were placed. Finally the complete rehabilitation of the maxilla was achieved through three fixed bridges acrylics on immediately loaded implants.
Discussion: at the end of the rehabilitation treatment of the patient it was found that because there were strictly carried out each stage of the implant diagnosis, it was obtained a positive result for the patient and the professional team.
Conclusions: radiological and surgical splints are auxiliary invaluable means in the success of implant therapy.
