Abstract

It is reported the histopathologic diagnosis of a tumor of granular cells, which was  extirpated from the tongue´s basis of an infant who was 41 days old. According to the literature, this neoformation is not frequent in the pediatric age. Also, the histologic type is not one of the common ones. In this paper it is shown the importance of differentiation with other mesenchymal neoplasms including those of low degree of malignity.
