Abstract

It was performed a control research to determine the risk factors for cervical uterine cancer at 13 de Marzo Policlinic in Bayamo during the period 2008-2009. The universe was made by 3450 patients after the vaginal cytology test during the reference period, and the sample by 76 women whose exams were positive, and a control group of 76 women to whom a questionnaire was applied in order to know variables like type of neoplasia, age, occupation, schooling, marital stage, the beginning of sexual intercourse, use of anticonceptives, presence of cervicitis, smoking addiction and vaginal sepsis. The presence of neoplasia of the cervix was about 2.2% prevailing the intraepithelial. The most affected age group was from 25 to 34 years folowed by the group from 35 to 44 years old. The risk factors in decreasing order were: vaginal sepsis, the first sexual intercourse since 15-20 years, cervicitis and smoking addiction. There were applied several methods like video conferences, educative chats, and there was also applied a survey for all the patients with cervical pathologies included in this research.  Statistical methods were used and with this information the data was gathered, using values and percentages. The tables were made and analized and the obtained results were discussed.
