Abstract

The keratocyst is a lesion of odontogenic origin derived from the remains of the dental sheet that appears commonly in adults. Two peaks have been identified in their incidence: between the second and third decades of life, and between 50 and 60 years of age, with a slight predominance of the male sex. Frequently located in the lower jaw and in the third inferior molars. It is an odontogenic tumour, of silent and low growth, being diagnosed forms in the radiographic ex- amination of routine when they become infected since they are asymptomatic and do not produce expansion of tables in its   great majority. The probabilities of recurrence are between 10 to 60 % after of the surgery due to its form of presentation, its location and its histological type. We report a case of odontogenic keratocyst in lower jaw that was treated with mandible resection and bone reconstruction with metal plate reconstruction and screw of Titanium a 14-year-old patient male. Considering the histopathological study, the diagnose was parakeratinising odontogenic keratocyst. Two years after surgery, the patient’s clinic and radiographic evolution was satisfactory.
