Social contradictions that are manifested in the formation process of the general doctor

Abstract

Current social conditions demand from the Medical University a turning in the formative process of General Doctors based on a flexible design that satisfies the growing lack and needs of this Member of the Basic Health Team (BHT) in the different teaching-care units. The aim of this paper is to analyze the social contradictions that occur in the teaching learning process of the Medical Informatics discipline of Medicine career from the practice of the profession. In the first two years of the career, it is not achieved that students own and systematize the informatics culture through the relationships established with other disciplines because it is insufficient the proper use of the systems of computer application and Infomed services. The lack of systematization of Informatics and research knowledge brings dissatisfaction and discontent among the population in regards to the quality of professional training of Medicine, which prevents the development of the informatics program in the society. The qualitative differences in the objectives of the teacher and the ways to perform the activities proposed, express important differences in what students learn and how they learn it, these differences are closely related to the use of learning strategies by the students. The problem under discussion has social contradictions: cultural, ethical, economic and epistemological; confirming the need of research. From the epistemological perspective, the topic has been managed but it is not enough from the potentialities offered by ITC and the Internet services in the formation of medical professionals.
