Introduction: The employment of therapeutic physical exercise in the treatment and comprehensive rehabilitation of burn patients is a resource of extraordinary value for achieving movement recovery as part of health care for this condition.
Objective: Aim: To identify how a system of physical exercises influences the improvement of muscle strength affected by hypodermic B burns in the shoulder girdle.
Methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 10 people with hypodermic B burns in the shoulder girdle: (6 women and 4 men), mean age 39.4 years (minimum 23 and maximum 59). Data collected from clinical histories and the results of initial and final osteomyoarticular system examinations were analyzed. The DeLorme-Watkins Method was applied with the intention of determining the evolution of muscle strength.
Results and discussion: At the end of the intervention, higher records were achieved in each of the elements subjected to evaluation.
Conclusions: The system of therapeutic exercises created supports better recovery times for burn patients' strength.
