Invisible neurological symptoms in stroke neurorehabilitation

Abstract

Motor deficits are the most common consequence of stroke. Neurorehabilitation aims to restore sensorimotor function; however, a silent reality limits functional recovery: neurological symptoms of attentional, perceptual, visual-sensory, and apraxic origin. These symptoms, by their very nature, often go unnoticed in conventional rehabilitation programs. This letter seeks to alert rehabilitation professionals to the importance of their early detection, which is the central objective of this communication.
