Abstract

It was carried out a descriptive research in “Fe del Valle Ramos” Ginecobstetric teaching Hospital, from Manzanillo, Granma in the period from March to July 2007. The selected sample was of 25 pregnants to whom there was applied peridural anaesthesia with meperidine with  the main objective to describe its behaviour in our institution during the studied period there were described some variables like age, associated pathologies reason for the surgical operation latencia period, anesthesic dosis, durability of blocking. There were obtained excellent results, he anesthetic blocking was brief, however it was effective and useful for caesarean surgery. The anesthesia with this opiate produce leact negative changes over the hemodynam and produce an adequate postoperative analgesia stage with satisfactory comfort durability.
