Abstract

It was performed a descriptive research in 100 young persons belonging to La Marina’s ward with the objective to determine the appraisal of young people towards some aspects of STI and AIDS transmission. For the analysis there were taking into account the following variables: age, sex, possibility to be infected, ways of infection, disposal to do the exam for HIV diagnosis, confidentiality, and reason for avoiding the exam, place to do the exam, with stable couple and without it. As part of the results, it was observed that a high percent of young persons recognize the possibility to have had a relation in which they could have been infected by AIDS being the sexual relation without protection, the most probable way of infection.
