Abstract

It was performed an experimental study to identify the secondary metabolites through the phytochemical screening in dyes obtained by the methods of extraction: maceration, percolation and ultrasound from the leaves and bark of the Spondias mombin (hockey), with the aim of linking physicochemical features of the extracts with its pharmacological activity. We can see that in the extracts obtained from the leaves there were identified: phenols, tannins, coumarins, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, quinones, triterpenes, sterols and reducing sugars. In the extracts obtained from the bark we can identify phenols, tannins, coumarins, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids and reducing sugars. It was evidenced that the presence of secondary metabolites identified in the leaves and bark of Spondias mombin are related to their pharmacological activity.
